Family Garage ("we", "our", or "the app") is a shared vehicle maintenance tracker for families. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used and protected.
We collect your phone number when you sign in. It is used to:
Your phone number is stored in AWS DynamoDB and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
The garages, cars, and service records you create are stored in AWS DynamoDB and are associated with your account. This includes:
After you sign in, the app stores a secure authentication token in your device's Keychain. This token is valid for 30 days and is used to authenticate your requests to our servers. It is never shared with third parties.
When you use the VIN scan feature, your vehicle identification number (VIN) is sent to our server to retrieve vehicle details, open safety recalls, and maintenance schedule information. The VIN is not stored beyond the duration of the lookup request.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising.
Family Garage uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Your account and all associated data (garage memberships, vehicles, service records) are retained as long as your account exists.
Self-serve deletion: You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Settings tab in the app. Tapping Delete Account immediately and permanently removes:
Deletion is irreversible. If you cannot access the app, you may also request deletion by emailing privacy@marshalonis.com. We will process email requests within 30 days.
Family Garage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Access to garage data is enforced server-side — you can only read and write data for garages you are a member of.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
